PTTEP volunteers in “Waste to Value,” turning waste into community benefits
PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) organized the “Waste to Value” volunteer activity at Baan Khun Samut Chin coastal village, Samut Prakan province. About 50 PTTEP employee volunteers collaborated with the Baan Khun Samut Chin eco-tourism group to transform plastic waste—such as plastic bottle caps gathered from employees’ households and PTTEP headquarters, as well as discarded plastic bottles collected from the village area—into paving blocks for the community’s walkway and recycled keychains sold to generate income for the eco-tourism group. The activity not only reduced plastic waste by turning it into value-added products but also helped the community save on commercial flooring.
The collection of plastic bottle caps for recycling reinforces PTTEP’s adoption of the “Green Office” concept, which promotes efficient resource use and effective waste management in the office. This also aligns with the company’s approach to conducting its business responsibly with care for society and the environment.
