PTTEP Showcases Its Vision and Technology at Energy Asia 2025
From 16–18 June 2025, PTTEP joined regional and global leaders at Energy Asia 2025, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia, under the theme “Delivering Asia’s Energy Transition”. The event brought together over 5,000 energy experts to share insights and explore collaborative pathways to advance Asia’s energy transition while maintaining energy security and economic resilience.
Since its inaugural edition in 2023, Energy Asia has grown into a strategic platform for uniting Asia’s voice on climate action and energy development. As momentum builds following COP28, this year’s conference reaffirmed the region’s commitment to translating ambition into action—bridging sustainability goals with pragmatic strategies for long-term growth.
CEO Joins Strategic Dialogue on Upstream Oil and Gas
A key highlight of PTTEP’s participation was the plenary session “The Road Ahead for Asia’s Upstream Oil and Gas,” held on 17 June.
Mr. Montri Lawanchaikul, PTTEP Chief Executive Officer, joined fellow executives from Petronas, Inpex Corporation, and Mubadala Energy to discuss the evolving role of upstream oil and gas in the region’s future energy mix. The panel addressed a range of critical topics including, how investors can identify emerging opportunities across Asia’s upstream sector, how companies should strategically position themselves amid shifting geopolitical, regulatory, and market landscapes, and how sustainability can be embedded into long-term investment strategies.
Showcasing Technologies: CCS and DigitalX
At the exhibition, PTTEP highlighted its technological advancements that contribute to both energy security and climate goals. Featured innovations included:
Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS): Capturing and permanently storing CO₂ in deep geological formations, an important step toward national net-zero ambitions.
DigitalX: Leveraging PTTEP’s digital innovation to enhance operational efficiency across the entire exploration and production value chain.
Strengthening Regional Collaboration
Asia’s energy transition requires genuine and sustained regional cooperation, as resources and capabilities vary across countries. No single nation or organization can drive this transformation alone. The next edition of Energy Asia — Energy Asia 2027 — is scheduled to take place from 2–4 June 2027.
