Higher Education Assistance for Development (HEAD) Scholarship

PTTEP recognized the importance of education, skill and capacity development in the country we operate in sustainable way. Since 2008, the Higher Education Assistance for Development (HEAD) Scholarship has been initiated to offer full and long-term scholarship to high school graduate students, residing in Zawtika operating area, who are qualified for the subjects of medicine, nursing, midwifery, education and engineering but lack of financial means.

The project aims to support the underprivileged and help develop human capital in the country where we operate in a sustainable manner. PTTEP in Myanmar, schools, community and local government agencies jointly selected eligible students based on the criteria of good behaviors, excellent academic scores and admission to the specified scholar subjects, as well as financial difficulties to extend their study. Each year, 10 scholarships are provided to students to pursue their studies in college or university until the completion of degree level.

Since inception to date, the program has been granted 77 scholarships and 35 recipients have completed their studies. The graduates are now supporting their communities by working with local government agencies.
