PTTEP takes part in the Offshore Technology Conference Asia (OTC Asia 2024), the leading platform for offshore energy industry where over 25,000 professionals meet to exchange ideas and experiences to advance technical knowledge for offshore resources and environmental matters. This year’s conference – themed “Excellence in Asia: Energising Now and for the Future” – is held from February 27 to March 1, 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Mr. Montri Rawanchaikul, PTTEP CEO, is a featured speaker at the conference’s Leadership Dialogue: Excellence in Asia: Energising Now and for the Future. PTTEP executives also contribute to various strategic panel sessions as panelists, such as journey to decarbonization and sustainable development. Furthermore, PTTEP employees also present technical papers at the conference.
This year, PTTEP receives OTC Asia 2024’s “Spotlight on New Technology Award” from its AI and Robotics Solutions for Offshore Digitalization, a collaboration with its subsidiary ARV. The solutions revolutionize offshore operations with a fully autonomous robot fleet that enhances operational efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness for petroleum operations.
During the event, PTTEP’s exhibition booth was showcased under the theme of “Journey to the Endless Possibilities”, reflecting the company's strategies to become a sustainable organization amid business challenges and energy transition. PTTEP also exhibits the model of the emissions-reducing Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project study at Lang Lebah field offshore Malaysia where PTTEP made its largest-ever gas discovery. The exhibition also features cutting-edge technologies developed by ARV including Xplorer, an AUV for external pipeline inspection with its real-time photo and data reporting; and Smart Forest Solution and Carbon Credit Marketplace, decarbonization solutions through nature-based carbon credits.
PTTEP participates in the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC 2024), the flagship multidisciplinary technical event in the Eastern Hemisphere, focused on sharing new technologies and industry best practices. This year's conference – estimated to host over 2,500 organizations and more than 20,000 international energy professionals – takes place from February 12 to 14, 2024, at Dhahran Expo, Dammam City, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the theme “inventing solutions > leading the transition”.
Within the conference, Mr. Montri Rawanchaikul, PTTEP CEO, is a featured speaker at the Executive Special Session: Managing Uncertainties for a Prosperous Future, alongside executives from other leading energy companies. PTTEP employees also presented technical papers at the event.
Furthermore, Miss Tida Sukeelap, Minister of Thailand to Saudi Arabia, graciously visited PTTEP’s exhibition booth which showcases the prominent model of Eastern Thailand CCS Hub Project in the Eastern Economic Corridor of Thailand (EEC) of which PTTEP is leading the feasibility study with the aim to reduce CO2 emission using Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology. The exhibition also features cutting-edge technologies including Xplorer, autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) for external pipeline inspection, with its real-time photo and data reporting; and Smart Forest Solution and Carbon Credit Marketplace, decarbonization solutions through nature-based carbon credits. Xplorer, as well as Smart Forest Solution and Carbon Credit Marketplace, are developed by PTTEP’s subsidiary – AI and Robotics Ventures (ARV). Additionally, “Khon”, Thailand’s traditional mask performance, is presented at the exhibition booth, representing Thai cultural identity onto the international stage.
PTTEP actively participated in the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. PTTEP and global energy companies have pledged the Oil & Gas Decarbonization Charter, as part of COP28. PTTEP also participated in the Business & Philanthropy Climate Forum along with more than 500 global business leaders and philanthropists to achieve substantial reductions in greenhouse gases. At the Thailand Pavilion organized by the Department of Climate Change and Environment, PTTEP demonstrated our climate initiatives under EP Net Zero 2050 concept which include Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), methane management, Smart Forest Solution for green area management and the development of a carbon credit marketplace. PTTEP’s executives also shared their visions and perspectives at side events hosted at the Thailand Pavilion, expressing ambitions to achieve net zero emissions. This involves highlighting Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS), as a significant approach against global warming, harnessing renewable energy in its operations, developing new forms of future energy such as hydrogen, acknowledging the conservation and restoration of biodiversity as a crucial role in tackling global warming and undertaking other activities to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.
Mr. Montri Rawanchaikul, PTTEP CEO, along with high-level executives from 13 organizations joined the launch ceremony of the ASEAN Methane Leadership Program (MLP) at Energy Asia 2023 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Malaysia. This move underlines PTTEP’s commitment on Net Zero Emissions where methane emissions management is one of the key enablers.
Launched as a regional initiative, the MLP aims to promote regional collaboration, sharing on technology and practices, as well as capability building within ASEAN Energy Sector on methane emissions management.
PTTEP participates in ADIPEC 2023, the world’s largest energy exhibition and conference, held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This event aims at uniting the energy ecosystem towards “Decarbonising. Faster. Together.” Mr. Montri Rawanchaikul, PTTEP CEO, took part in presenting his vision during the panel discussion on “How upstream producers are decarbonising operations.” PTTEP executives and employees also contributed various technical proposals within the conference.
At the event, PTTEP showcases exhibition under the theme “Journey to the Endless Possibilities,” presenting investment strategies aligned with the “EP Net Zero” concept to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and showcasing innovations. These include technologies that enhance operational efficiency, and especially those supporting carbon dioxide reduction—developed by PTTEP and our subsidiary, ARV, together with partners.
ADIPEC 2023 takes place during 2–5 October 2023, with over 160,000 attendees from over 30 countries around the world. This event is regarded as another significant platform to showcase the potential of a Thai energy company on the global stage, contributing to the sustainable future of the energy industry.
