Key Achievement Milestones

At PTTEP, we firmly believe that all incidents are preventable and “Target Zero” is attainable. In 2019, this message is still cascaded down from the top management right down to all employees and contractors.

PTTEP creates a culture of safety for all of our employees and contractors, in every stage of work. The company has in place a policy and a Safety, Security, Health and Environment (SSHE) Management System, which aligns with international standards, to manage risks and ensure that no accidents occur in the workplace.

SSHE Performance

  • Top quartile SSHE performance in Lost Time Injury Frequency (LTIF) and 2nd quartile in Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) compared to 2017 International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) average performance.
  • Reduction of greenhouse gas emission intensity by 7.2% compared to base year in 2012.
  • No occupational illnesses recorded for employees, and the company achieved the Total Recordable Occupational Illness Rate (TROIR) target of zero cases per million hours worked. 

Maintaining SSHE Standards

  • In 2018, process safety performance was positive improvements, proactive management measures, which include conducting a Loss of Primary Containment Survey, improving Management of Change Process, as well as enhancing process safety management awareness and implementing the “My Barrier” program.
  • Based on the latest survey in 2017, the result of SSHE Culture Survey was 4.16 out of 5 at Proactive Level. The company has established the goal of achieving a “SSHE Culture Level 5”, the highest level possible, in order to embed safety as an ingrained behavior amongst employees by 2020.
  • Developed the 4Ls Program (Lifting and dropped objects, Land transportation, Leakages, and Leadership) to manage risks and dangers, communicate more effectively, and ensure the safe management of operations.
  • Revised PTTEP oil and chemical spill response plan across all of company operational areas to ensure that it remains efficient and aligns with international standards.
