Deputy Prime Minister learns about PTTEP’s Crab Hatchery Model

Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, recently visited the Crab Hatchery exhibition and was greeted by Prapon Charusalaipong, Vice President, Petroleum Development Support Base, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP). The exhibition presented knowledge and wisdom from the Crab Hatchery Learning Center at Ban Hua Khao, in Singhanakhon district, Songkhla, which has been established by PTTEP in cooperation with P. Sap-anan Traditional Fishermen Group, National Institute of Coastal Aquaculture (NICA) and Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya to share know-how in hatching and nursing juvenile crabs.

The collaboration has seen over 500 million crabs released to the sea and has helped generate income for local fishermen. The Crab Hatchery exhibition was organized as part of the Regional Research Expo 2018 at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Songkhla.
