PTTEP opens Visitor Center and 3 Nature Trails at Khao Yai National Park
26 Mar 12

Mr. Anon Sirisaengtaksin, President and Chief Executive Officer of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) and Mr. Damrong Pidej, Director General, Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, officially open a new renovated visitor center, as well as three nature trails in “Moradok Lok Dong Phyayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex, the International Forest Treasure” (World Heritage’s Dong Phyayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex, the International Forest Treasure) event held at Khao Yai National Park. The ceremony is presided over by Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Mr.Sakda Noppasit

The visitor center provides tourists with information regarding Thailand’s natural world heritage - Dong Phyayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex in a modern, comprehensive, and interactive exhibition showing ecological mechanisms. Visitors are encouraged to acquire knowledge through learning in dynamic real-world environment equipped with various facilities. As for the three nature trails - Kong Kaew, KM. 33 (Nong Pak Chee), and Pha Deaw Dai – PTTEP has developed interpretation signs and system in order to promote this world heritage area as a natural source of learning for people from all walks of life. Each trail is unique and has its own distinctive features, resulting in options for tourists to choose the one that suits their time and personal interests.

This series of activities is a part of the “Ruamjaipak Rak Moradokthai Moradoklok” (Commemoratively Conserve Thai and World Heritage) campaign, which has been continuously operating since last year with the intentions to honor His Majesty the King who has been named as the Supreme Patron of Thai Cultural Heritage and to follow the royal commitment to the conservation of natural resources and environment as a mean to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the King’s 84th birthday anniversary.
