General Information

  Construction of Petroleum Development Support Base, Songkhla (PSB) began operations on 15th September 2005.

  The base is ISO 14001 certified and has ISPS code compliance.
 

  PSB is located in the Gulf of Thailand at 07? 14’ N 100? 34” E and is about 1 nm northwest of the entrance to Songkhla Lake in Singhanakorn District, Songkhla. It is about 50 kilometres from Hat Yai International Airport and 30 kilometres from Hat Yai railway station. Access to the base by road can either be through Highway 407 from Hat Yai or through the coastal highway 408 from Nakorn Si Thammarat.

  PSB Jetty is protected by a man-made breakwater and operations can be carried out throughout the year. The wind is generally north easterly and maximum wave height is 0.5 metres, with maximum current strength at 2 knots.

The channel is 800 metres long and 80 metres wide. It is dredged to 8 metres below Chart Datum. The channel is marked with 2 lighted port hand buoys # 16 and # 18 with flashing red light every 3 seconds and visible at a distance of 5 nautical miles (Fl R 3s 3m)

  Thai Chart 229 “Songkhla Harbour” shows the passage to the jetty.

  The jetty has a total length of 380 metres and is divided into six berths, each 65 metres in length. The berths are numbered from 1 to 6. The deck level of the jetty is +2.3 metres above sea level. The water depth at the jetty is 8 metres below Chart Datum. Each berth has four 50-ton pull and two 30-Ton capacity bollards. The jetty is protected by circular fender spaced at 4 metres intervals.

  The jetty is fitted with normal street lighting. During night operations, is lit up by 4 sets of high mast lights. The jetty is able to operate 24 hrs
